By Andrea Kirsten-Coleman Lyudmyla Yakymenko, a GSK employee based in Ukraine, is heading to Tanzania as our first GSK PULSE Volunteer. The PULSE Volunteer Partnership at GSK matches employees to a non-profit organization for three or six months where they contribute their skills to solve healthcare challenges at home and abroad. Lyudmyla will be improving the data management system at Bugando Medical Centre, located in Mwanza, Tanzania, a town in the Lake Region. The Center is the primary teaching institution for a large swath of the country along the shores of Lake Victoria and one of three regional hubs Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon supports to develop cervical cancer screening and treatment programs. Lyudmyla will update us on her experience during her time in Mwanza. You can read her first blog post here. Congratulations Lyudmyla and welcome to Tanzania!
